Welcome to the Human Rights in the Humanities Website!

This Website aims to be a forum for scholars, teachers, students and activists - anyone interested in human rights in the humanities - to find resources on human rights issues in literature, film & the creative arts.

Its most important feature is our Database: it allows you to find materials, in various genres, on diverse human rights topics.

Our site also offers a range of course materials (syllabi, film lists, course modules) and special features on human rights issues in contemprary culture. Further Weblinks point you to other resources on human rights, including conferences, online museums, films, images, readings, humanitarian or activist fora.

This Website, a three year project (2008-2011), is a work in progress. We want to provide you with the best possible resources to successfully study, learn or teach about human rights in the humanities; therefore, we welcome any comments you may have. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your questions or suggestions.

The manager of this project is Dr. Madelaine Hron. The database and Website were constructed by Robert Glick and Xanantec Inc. The Web design was created by Katie Quanz. The research assistants on this project -- responsible for locating and databasing all the sources -- were Katie Quanz, Paul Graansma, Naomi Scapinello, Andrea Hennige and Taz Zaman.

This Website was made possible by funding from the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada.
